ABSTRACT: A Newer Way of Thinking [ANWOT]
A Practical Person’s Guide to Feeling Good and Doing Good
As E=mc2 ushered in “the bomb” and our new era of mega-power, Einstein prophesied we shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive. The Guide’s essay, Good Aggression, explains why we are earth’s only species to focus our energy on creating our own Armageddon, even as the red alert sirens are blaring. Most important, the essay identifies the practical doable steps required to redirect our energy to weapons for mass construction. Global peace requires we first teach our self to become our own best friend, to feel good and do good. As individuals, we need ANWOT to free our self from the innate directors who yet control our thinking.
Our genes program us to fight for our means of survival. The nurturers dominant in our current culture indoctrinate us to want the symbols of power: titles, wealth, appearance, winning, “rightness,” a rewarded afterlife, and so on. Our creeds often dictate behavior more than our needs, as exemplified by the suicide bomber. Universal sameness in the manner we think is the root cause of destructive aggression! However we resolve our apparent differences (economical, political, religious), our prevalent thinking will yet compete to dominate others, cause prejudice, hatred, repetitious acts of inhumanity, and expand our means for destructive aggression. We are now creating the knowledge to free our thinking from its slavery to instinct and habit, to teach peace-of-mind, peace-for-humankind. The Guideis designed to become a self-sustaining growing curriculum of educational units that teach the preferred newer manner of thinking. By providing the ANWOT resources in an appetizing manner, in one’s own residence, at no cost, and with your participation, this study program and similar resources will set off a chain reaction with global impact. Success is simply a matter of what we will!
Note: A parable is told of a small town along a river. One day, Jeb sees a body floating down the river. He calls for help, and they pull the person out. Soon another body is seen, and again the person is saved. “Oh-oh!” Another body followed by another and they just keep coming. More helpers come, and many are saved. Jeb turns his back and heads away. “Hey, Jeb, there’s more work to be done.” Jeb: “I’m gone round that river bend and findin out whose throwin em in.” The practical essays in the Guide explain in short simple terms what-to-do to get quick relief. The theory essays provide the tools for greater problem-solving, for prevention more so than cure.
The Guide is designed as a curriculum to be studied more so than a book to be read. Excellence is built on knowledge and application. Skill in becoming one’s own best friend, growing our mental freedom to become our own person, and contributing as a valued member of the greater community to which we are a part is acquired over time through practice.
